Job Title: Customer Service Representative - Tile Specialist
Job Location: San Jose
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual for our Customer Service Team. As a Tile Specialist, this individual will be responsible for responding to a high volume of inbound calls from both our Customer base and our Outside Sales Team. You will be responsible for demonstrating our commitment to customer service by setting a high standard of contact with both internal and external customers.
- This position calls for a team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision.
- This individual will be responsible to:
Answer incoming calls in an effective, positive and timely fashion;
Accurately process incoming orders for merchandise received by telephone, fax, email or BJC Associate;
Understand key features and benefits of products and programs and communicate this information to customers;
Provide information on other applicable products available to assist in meeting customer needs;
Track open orders and backorders;
Route special orders to Purchasing or Credit as needed;
Issue RMA information and forms for returns;
Follow up on freight quotes and assist in tracking numbers for shipments and deliveries;
Advise customers, as necessary, on all changes or modifications related to their orders;
Research and resolve customer inquiries or issues promptly;
Set and meet follow-up commitments to all external and internal customers.
SKILLS REQUIRED
3-5 years previous Customer Service Experience, preferably with Tile product knowledge.
Strong work ethic and enthusiastic attitude.
Effective oral, written and telephone communication skills.
Ability to analyze problems and determine a balanced solution for both the customer and the company.
Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
Ability to learn essential product knowledge.
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet (CRM experience a plus). Strong keyboard skills.
Filing and basic office organizational duties.
Teamwork - support other departments when needed (Sales, Credit, Purchasing and Accounting).
An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are highly desirable.
This position is based in San Jose, CA. No relocation allowance is available.
